Q- Is it necessary to anchor the Hanging Rail to studs?
A- No, it is not necessary to mount the Rail to studs. The Rail provides maximum system strength when attached to drywall using our heavy-duty spiraling anchors. However, if a stud-mount application is preferred, you may follow these helpful hints:
  1. With an eight foot ceiling, push the Hanging Rail to the ceiling and mount the Rail to the sill plate using a 5/32" pilot hole and the screws provided. (Use 90° Uprights.)
  2. At any other height, locate and mark wall studs, then align the holes in the Hanging Rail over the studs. Secure Rail every 16" using a 5/32" pilot hole and the screws provided.
Q- What is the best way to handle a corner situation?
A- Based on the layout of your closet, extend the shelving wall-to-wall on the longer wall. On the shorter wall, offset the shelving 24" to allow the clothes on the longer wall to hang smoothly.

How strong is the freedomRail system?

FreedomRail is designed for a lifetime of rugged use. All components are made from heavy-duty steel which is coated with a non-stick epoxy coating.

When uprights are spaced 36 inches apart, the Profile shelf supports 50 pounds per lineal foot, or 150 pounds on a 3 foot shelf. For extra heavy applications, place uprights 24 inches apart to support 100 pounds per lineal foot, or 300 pounds on a 3 foot shelf.

In addition, the superior spiraling design of the freedomRail anchors means that you do not need to mount the system into studs to achieve maximum system strength. (If you prefer mounting into studs, use the freedomRail screws without anchors.)

Q- Do you cut shelves and what is the cutting fee?
A- Yes we do and there is no charge! We can cut ventilated wire shelves, hanging rails and rods. After you put all of the items you want in the shopping cart, put a detailed note in the comments section telling us what you need cut and the size you need it to be and we will have it cut for you.
Q- How much does it cost to have a design done for my space?
A- Designs are free; all we need is a few minutes of your time to fill out our design form. Click here for Schulte Design Services. You also will get an additional 5% off your order if you end up buying one of our designs.
Q- Do you have installers or can I do it myself?

A- We do have installers where we are located in Michigan. Contact us if you are in the Metro Detroit area to come see our showroom and talk to us about having us install your shelving for you at 800.637.9508

If you are not in the area no need to worry, all of our shelving systems were created to be installed by you. We have installation guides and videos for the shelving we sell as well as customer support if you have additional questions. Our wall mounted shelving systems only require a few tools such as a drill, level and a step stool for mounting the rails.

Q- How long will it take for me to get my shelving after I
submit my design request?
A- We design in house Mon-Fri and typically get designs back to you within the same day or early the next depending on the time it is received. After you receive the finished design you are given the option to change anything you like or order right away if you are ready. This process typically takes two to three days. Once you decide on what want to order we will process the order and prepare it for shipping. If you are in a rush we can work with you to get your shelving as quickly as possible.
