How To Use Closet Shelving Components

Closet Shelving Components are the basis for your custom closet. Mixing and Matching a variety of closet shelving components will allow you to design the closet of your dreams.

By learning about how closet shelving components work together, you can craft your design with ease. There are 5 types of closet shelving components; Organization Boxes (o-boxes), wire or solid shelves, hanging rails, brackets and uprights.

Even the most basic of closet will require the use of a shelf, hanging rail, bracket and upright. Any closet construction begins with the hanging rail, which attaches to your wall. Then brackets and uprights can be attached to the hanging rail to secure your shelf. The shelf will attach to the bracket or upright. O-boxes can also be attached to uprights and brackets if you choose to use these.

Hanging rails can be hung vertically or horizontally and come in many lengths to accommodate the dimensions of your closet. Brackets and uprights can be moved along the hanging rail, allowing for further customization or even changes to your unit. Shelves and o-boxes are available in many sizes and finishes to meet closet dimensions also.
