Organizing for the Changing Seasons

Changing weather means it’s time to make the seasonal changeover. Here are our tips for staying organized.

Clothing: The end of a season is the perfect time to sort through items. If you didn’t wear something all summer, pitch it. The rest of your summer clothing can be removed from your main closet and stored elsewhere, such as in bins on chrome wire shelving.

Run anything that you know hasn’t been cleaned through the washer so that when the weather finally warms up again, you’ll be able to toss on that tee-shirt the moment the snow melts.

Garage: Identify space for off-season items. Use chrome wire shelving to store garden tools or sports equipment. Larger items like bikes can be hung on a wall.

Like organizing your closet, this seasonal change is a great time to get rid of older, unused items.

Patio and Deck: Unless you live someplace that goes from hot to warm in the winter, your end-of-season activities will include covering patio furniture and pulling items into the garage. Store smaller outdoor items on your garage’s wire shelving.
