Digital Merchandiser


Job Description

We are looking first and foremost for an excellent and engaging writer with a passion for ecommerce...and shelves! While this can be a technical job, we are willing to train a promising and excited candidate to make them the perfect fit.


We currently sell from two websites - Shelving.com (more industrial, business focused) and TheShelvingStore.com (more residential focused), and one of the challenges of this job is to balance our content to appeal to both industrial and residential audiences.


The person in this position will be adding products to our websites using Excel and our shopping cart platform, Volusion. This entails writing compelling product descriptions, creating and updating spreadsheets in Excel, cropping photos, some use of SEO and html, and adherence to our style guide. An ideal candidate is be comfortable and enjoys working in Excel. If you can learn, we can teach!

Responsibilities

  • Create product descriptions that appeal to both industrial and residential consumers
  • Add and edit product images using Adobe Photoshop Elements
  • Communicate with vendors to ensure timely acquisition of quality product information and images for new and old products
  • Update spreadsheets to import correct pricing and stock status
  • Responsible for working with vendors and coworkers to maintain accurate product information such as images, pricing, stock, product weights, costs and related products
  • Keep current with emerging competition, perform routine price comparisons for represented product lines and make adjustments as needed
  • Look for new product lines to add to our sites

Job Details

  • This is a full-time job (40 hours)
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm, with a half hour lunch
  • Must have reliable transportation and be punctual
  • First date dress code (This means you dress for work as you would on a first date: not too fancy and not too casual)
  • Compensation: Based on Experience
  • Paid holidays available after 3-month trial period
  • Paid time off available after 6-months
  • Medical, Dental, Optical & Life Insurance offered on the 1st of the month following 60 days of full time employment
  • Simple IRA offered after 1 year of full time employment

Sales Admin


Job Description

Are the customers you interact with wowed by your ability to answer their questions and solve their problems with enthusiasm? Are you a team player who enjoys performing administrative support functions? If so, we'd love to hear from you.

Responsibilities

  • Interact via phone and email with customers and vendors
  • Screen calls for proper routing or gather information for sales, if applicable
  • Work with Sales Manager to agree on final quote details
  • Use QuickBooks to create sales quotes and deliver via email
  • Responsible for all subsequent follow up, data entry, record keeping and filing as it pertains to Sales Orders
  • Record and report sales metrics
  • Cross train with Customer Service Specialist and provide occasional coverage if needed
  • Suggest process improvements
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned

Preferred Skills

  • 2+ years of proven work experience in an administrative/customer support role
  • Ability to work independently within a team
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Ability to adapt and respond to different types of personalities
  • Strong phone and active listening skills
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Attention to detail
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel) and QuickBooks
