In order to provide you with an optimal delivery experience, we have developed close relationships with the best delivery companies nationwide, ensuring that each product on our site has been carefully selected to ship by a particular shipping method.We will notify you via email when your order ships. The email will include a tracking number for your shipment. Most companies provide an estimated delivery date. Be sure to contact us if you have concerns regarding the progress of the shipment. We have two methods of shipment available: Small Parcel and Truck Freight. Small ParcelWhenever possible we will ship smaller, lighter items via UPS, FEDEX, DHL or USPS. These companies provide the fastest and most reliable method of shipping available for many items we sell. Depending on how close you are to the shipping warehouse, your item will arrive between 1 and 6 business days (1 to 10 business days for USPS) after it leaves the warehouse.We do not require an adult signature for deliveries, however the decision to leave your package without a signature is left to the discretion of the delivery person. If you'd like an item left at your doorstep, please leave a note on your door asking the driver to leave your package with "No Signature Required." Be sure to include your name and tracking number on the note. Truck FreightSeveral items may be too large or too heavy to ship using a Small Parcel carrier. Therefore, our best option is to ship it to you using a common carrier. Truck freight is different than standard UPS, FedEx or US Mail in that you will be responsible for carrying the product from the truck to wherever it's going. You may also be contacted by the shipping carrier to schedule a delivery appointment. Most companies offer appointment windows (usually 2-4 hours) between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm EST, Monday through Friday.The most important thing to remember about truck freight is that you must inspect the package at the time of delivery. If there is any reason for you to be at all concerned about damage, please write PRODUCT DAMAGED clearly on the sheet that they ask you to sign. This simply ensures that if there is any damage, it will be easily taken care of. When ordering a very large item, please keep in mind that you may need assistance unloading it. Most truck freight companies offer additional services to help you move items from their truck. Once we email you the tracking information you can contact the shipper directly to inquire about these services. You would be responsible for directly paying the truck freight carrier for additional services. How Long Will it Take to Get My Order?You can expect to receive in stock items within 3 - 10 days.Ground ShippingIn order to keep your cost down and our pricing simple, we ship via UPS or FedEx ground or USPS freight according to the weights of the products and the current UPS ground rate schedule. This charge, is listed on the product detail page and covers ground shipping in the continental U.S. Unless you are shipping an order to Michigan (6% sales tax), your order total will be known before you begin checkout. We won't surprise you with any hidden charges or handling fees. The price you see is the price you pay. We keep it simple-our pricing is straightforward and all-inclusive, which saves you time and energy.International ShippingWe are currently working hard on streamlining the shipping process to make it hassle-free for our Canadian neighbors. For your convenience, we will calculate the shipping for you at checkout, just select "Canada" in the Country field from within your shopping cart. It is important to note the variable costs involved in international shipping through a third party carrier. This means that the goods you ordered have certain taxes added as soon as they cross into Canada and are not included in the cost of shipping.The HST (or GST and PST where applicable) is calculated based on the cost and types of materials being brought into the country. Fees will be assessed by the courier service and a brokerage fee added for preparing these items to clear customs. These fees will be due to the third party carrier service at the time of delivery. For example: Let's say an Ontario resident is ordering a Chrome Wire Shelving Unit that costs $157 USD. There would be a duty of about $8 USD and fees of about $13 USD. The brokerage fee is paid on the value of the duty, and in this case would be negligible. Therefore, the total due to the third party carrier at the time of delivery would be about $21 USD. For this reason, all international orders will be contacted by phone or by email to confirm this arrangement before the order will be shipped. Once shipped, it is the responsibility of the customer to pay the courier. If the fees are then refused, the customer will be liable for the cost to return the goods in addition to a 25% restocking fee. We hope that you are completely satisfied with our products; however, if you would like to return or exchange something, we require all returns to be made within 30 days of shipment and in their original packaging. Unwanted items are subject to a 25% restocking charge, and all shipping costs are non refundable. If an item was damaged or defective when you received it, we will send you a replacement product immediately. Damaged MerchandiseThe Shelving Store inspects all merchandise prior to shipping from our distribution center. In the event an item is damaged during transit to your location, please notify us immediately after receiving the item by calling 1-800-637-9508 so we can arrange for a return or replacement. Customer should thoroughly inspect all items for shipping damage before accepting delivery. If damage has occurred, Customer should note the extent of the damage on the freight bill and call The Shelving Store immediately. Although our responsibility for loss and damage ceases when the products are accepted for shipment by the carrier, The Shelving Store will, when notified, file a damage claim for goods shipped via a carrier of our choice, and ship a replacement. Buyer shall, at The Shelving Store's option, return any damaged products to The Shelving Store pursuant to our instructions.
