Standard length fits other 36" shelves September 29, 2022 Reviewer: Jerryab from Minneapolis, MN   Built a unit using parts from three companies and they all fit fine. Used two of these shelves as the bottom two to stabilize the 72" tall back posts--but used only 18" tall front pasts (front can be other lengths/heights). 18" does NOT match other companies' 18" September 29, 2022 Reviewer: Jerryab from Minneapolis, MN   Compared to two other companies, this 18" length (at the holes) was about 3/8" shorter than other brands. Using all shelves from one supplier should not be a problem--but this shelf will NOT fit another 18" shelf from at least two other companies--whose shelves DO match each other (i.e., you can mix-and-match their shelves on 18" posts--but these will NOT fit if the other 18" shelves are already i Was this review helpful to you?

Great depth for small rooms! September 29, 2022 Reviewer: urban dweller from Chicago   I have a small urban condo with a narrow kitchen that can't accommodate standard-depth shelving.  The 8" depth is perfect!  I bought a 72" tall unit with 8"x18" shelves and it tucks neatly into a corner where I used to put the wastebasket.  Now the wastebasket is on the bottom shelf and I've got lots of storage above it.
